Cow, Cabbage, Flies by Chester Tsai

Originally written for the stage, I was tasked with visualizing a section of the script for the camera. Below are some thumbnails and a poster I sketched for the production.

A Short Sequence

I drew these thumbnails to establish a dynamic between the 3 characters and where they are in the space.

Color was the most effective way to differentiate the characters in the scene. I think its a fun visual!

Bevo as Cow

The writer/director of the stage play thought it would be really funny if the cow featured in the story was the University of Texas at Austin’s live mascot Bevo.

I thought it would only be fitting that Bevo be front and center in this poster, menacingly eating a cabbage on his green throne.

If you would have read the story, this would make total sense.
